Look for one of the following maker marks” : C, or Chamilia, or CHAM, or 925, or Cham 925 What does 925 mean? 925 is the mark for Sterling Silver. It is 92.5% pure silver and the rest is some kind of alloy. This is much different than silver plated where a layer of silver is placed over another metal or alloy, and can be scraped off or tarnished easily. Caring for Your Jewelry: Chamilia sterling silver and 14K gold beads are treated to resist tarnishing, but sometimes they need a quick touch-up. To do so, we recommend only using a jewelry polishing cloth. Do not use liquid silver polish as it removes the oxidization from the beads and bracelets.
